COME TUTTI I GRANDI …

Giovanni Genini – 1953

COME TUTTI I GRANDI ….

English Version

LIKE ALL THE GREAT

It was not out of choice but out of passion that, in the post-war period, after work Mr. G.G. used his ingenuity to construct tools and mechanical systems to work wood. He was no engineer and had never attended a technical school, but he had manual skills, the perspicacity to resolve problems and the farsightedness of the “greats”.

In the fifties, he understood that industrial development could only take place at the bottom of the valley and so, in the sixties, he moved from Brembilla to Almè where other entrepreneurial friends created one of the first industrial zones in the suburbs of Bergamo.

This was the beginning of an uphill trend, even though at the time no one was aware of it; the watchword was “WORK”.

This was also the beginning of great industrialisation and there was a fear, a fear in everything done with little knowledge, without experience, without organisational skills; everything had to be learnt!

Time didn’t matter; in the evening everyone was tired, but they slept well because their brains were tired and in the morning they began again already knowing what had to do!!
