E’ lecita la domanda: quale è l’affinità fra la ROTOUR 100 e Philippe Leroy? … la risposta è ovvia: NESSUNA!!

Erano gli anni ’80 …

A quel tempo era in voga una fiction d’azione con i pirati della Malesia: Sandokan e l’amico Yanez, quest’ultimo interpretato da Philippe Leroy.

Era il settembre del 1980, l’azienda aveva organizzato una mostra delle proprie macchine a Camucia di Cortona, Arezzo dove appunto risiedeva anche l’attore che venne alla mostra con lo scopo di vedere le macchine in funzione.

Leroy viveva a Camucia e come passatempo lavorava il legno …

Alla mostra pensava di trovare qualcosa che potesse interessare al suo lavoro ma le macchine erano troppo automatiche per le sue necessità.

Al momento, non lo riconobbi subito … fu l’amico Pelezzi che lo presentò.

Si fece un bel parlare di pirati e di battaglie … di lavoro neanche un cenno, e quando decise di andare si scattò la fotografia che rimase negli archivi della ditta fino ad oggi.

Oggi, è un bel ricordo!!

The Genini ROTOUR 100 and Philippe Leroy

 The question, “What is the connection between the ROTOUR 100 and Philippe Leroy?” is a good one. The answer is obvious, “NONE!”.

It was the eighties…

At that time an action drama about the pirates of Malaysia was a popular television series; it featured Sandokan and his friend Yanez, the latter played by Philippe Leroy.

In September 1980, the company organised an exhibition of its machines in Camucia near Cortona, Arezzo, home of the actor, who came to the event to see the machines in operation.  

Leroy lived in Camucia and worked wood as a hobby.

He hoped to find something at the exhibition for his work, but the machines were too automated for his needs.

At the time I didn’t recognise him straightaway; my friend Pelezzi introduced us.

We enjoyed talking about pirates and battles – work wasn’t even mentioned – and just before he left I took a photograph that has stayed in the company’s archives until today.

Today it’s a wonderful memory!!
