La produzione di zoccoli olandesi: Ovviamente sono prodotti in Olanda, in un piccolo paese in mezzo alla campagna, in un laboratorio sotto casa, dove l’artigiano passa la maggior parte del suo TEMPO LIBERO.
Perché nel tempo libero?? Perché lo fa per passatempo!!
Il lavoro primario è quello di lavorare la terra e accudire gli animali. Con questo lavoro l’artigiano-artista, soddisfa tutti i fabbisogni per la sopravvivenza della sua famiglia composta da cinque persone ( genitori e tre figli ).
La sua vita è regolata secondo i ritmi della natura: quando il tempo è avverso, lo trascorre sotto casa e si rilassa costruendo zoccoli olandesi. Siete sorpresi??Pensate a chi lavora per otto ore e poi si rilassa facendo giardinaggio, oppure palestra, oppure 200 km in bicicletta … lui ha deciso di fare il contrario … L’artista mi ha confessato: “ero stufo di lavorare e lavorare per poi, la sera, stanco, cercare di ritagliare tempo alla mia vita per un po’ di relax.
Il mio hobby era la coltivazione di frutta e verdura oltre l’allevamento di piccoli animali da cortile, e , negli ultimi tempi, per poter mantenere il lavoro, dovevo dedicare sempre più tempo a questo togliendone sempre più al mio hobby.
A seguito di una riflessione sulla mia vita, ho pensato di invertire le priorità e perciò ho trasformato il mio hobby in lavoro (produco frutta, verdure e carne solo per la nostra famiglia) e ho trasformato il mio lavoro nell’hobby (costruisco zoccoli olandesi a livello amatoriale e artistico).
Da quel momento della trasformazione mangio e mi diverto, senza stress e bruciori di stomaco …
Non produco di più di ciò che mi occorre e pratico il mio hobby per tutto il tempo che voglio … cosa vuoi di più dalla vita???!”

A LIFE LESSON… The solution may be to invert life’s priorities
The manufacture of Dutch clogs: obviously these are made in the Netherlands, in a small town in the midst of the country, in a workshop on the doorstep, where the craftsman passes most of his FREE TIME.
Why his free time? Because he does it as a pastime!
His main job is to work the land and look after animals. By working as a craftsman and artist, he manages to satisfy the needs of his family, which is made up of five members (parents and three children).
His life is governed by the rhythms of nature: when the weather is inclement, he spends his time in his workshop, making Dutch clogs.
Are you surprised?
Just think of those people who work for eight hours and then relax by doing some gardening, or going to the gym, or cycling 200 km. He just decided to do the opposite.
The artist told me: “I was fed up of working and working, and then, in the evening, being almost too tired to find time in my life for some relaxation.
My hobby was growing fruit and vegetables and rearing small farm animals, but in the latter years, to keep my work going, I had to devote more and more time, which reduced the amount of time I could spend on my hobby.
After reflecting on my life, I decided to change my priorities and so transformed by hobby into my work (I produce fruit, vegetables and meat only for my family) and transformed by work into my hobby (I make Dutch clogs at an amateur and artistic level).
From that moment of transformation, I am eating better and enjoying myself, without stress and heartburn…
I don’t make any more than I need and enjoy my hobby for as long as I want to… what more does one want from life???!”
