Fra gli anni ’50-’60 i primi costruttori di macchine operanti a quel tempo a Brembilla si trasferirono ad Almè.

Il motivo principale fu la necessità di grandi spazi ma non meno importante fu la necessità di avere una logistica più snella e la volontà di intraprendere una gestione industriale. Sventolava così la bandiera a scacchi che dava il via alla corsa pionieristica dei costruttori di macchine per la lavorazione del legno delle valli Bergamasche.

La richiesta di torni in numero sempre maggiore, fece nascere nuove aziende ed in pochi anni, si creò un polo produttivo che fece diventare quest’area, la CAPITALE MONDIALE DEL TORNIO PER IL LEGNO: tutti volevano essere fra i “protagonisti del gioco”, … a quei tempi non esisteva “grande fratello”, il gioco era l’orgoglio del proprio lavoro!

Quanti di Voi ricordano TUTTI i costruttori Bergamaschi, con MARCHIO PROPRIO di macchine, attrezzature e utensili operanti o che hanno operato nella filiera delle torneria del legno??? … 4?? – 8?? – 13?? – 18?? oltre? quanti …

INDUSTRIAL ARCHAEOLOGY OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF LATHES IN THE VALLEYS OF WOOD IN BERGAMO PROVINCE

 Between the fifties and sixties of the last century, the first machine manufacturers working in Brembilla at that time moved to Almè.

The main reason was the need for more space, but no less important was the need to have more streamlined logistics and a desire to start industrial operations. This signalled the start of the pioneering race of the wood working machine manufacturers of the Bergamask valleys. 

Increasing numbers of lathes were requested, leading to the creation of new companies, and in a few years a manufacturing centre was created, which led to this area becoming the WORLD CAPITAL OF LATHES FOR WOOD: everyone wanted to be one of the “major game players” – there was no “Big Brother” at that time, the game was pride in one’s work!

How many of you remember ALL the Bergamask manufacturers with THEIR OWN BRAND of machines, equipment and tools working in the wood turning sector? 4? – 8? – 13? – 18? More? How many?
